OUR LEADERSHIP

We believe the New Testament teaches a plurality of elders as the model for church leadership. Therefore, CrossWay is governed by a team of biblically qualified elders who share equal responsibility for oversight and shepherding. Their role emphasizes the ministry of the Word, prayer, discipleship, and care for the spiritual health of the church.

Paul Brooks

Paul came to know the Lord at a young age. In his early twenties, his faith became more personal as he intentionally followed Christ. Paul has been married to his wife, Beverly, for over 32 years and is blessed with five sons, three daughters-in-law, and soon-to-be five grandchildren.

Paul has a deep love for people and has spent much of his life investing in young people and pointing them to Christ. He loves serving the church family as an elder and desires to continue shepherding those the Lord brings through its doors.

James Chavis

James came to know the Lord at the age of nineteen. In 2001, he married the love of his life, Melissa, and together they have been blessed with six children, a son-in-law, and one granddaughter. He has a passion for preaching and gospel-centered music in the life of the church, and so also serves as Crossway’s music ministry leader.

Dennis Lowry

Dennis grew up in a Christian home and came to know the Lord at an early age. In 1984, he married his college sweetheart, Florita, and together they have five daughters, one son, and eleven grandchildren (and counting). What has most captured his heart is having been captured by Christ—“the one who loved me and gave Himself for me.” Out of that love flows Dennis’s deep affection for the local church and her witness to the world.
